The Education Society, Ambernath’s Mahatma Gandhi Vidyalaya & Junior College
Ambernath, Thane, Maharashtra

ABOUT SCHOOL

The Education Society, Ambernath was established by Late Shri Bhausaheb Paranjape in 1936. It is one of the oldest educational institution in Thane District. This institution has history of the visit of Father of Nation and esteemed leader Mahatma Gandhiji. Mahatma Gandhi Vidyalaya and Jr. College, Ambarnath is an institution run by The Education Society. It provides primary education to the poor and underprivileged students from the society. The aim of this institution is to develop the students into sensitive, truthful and capable individuals who can contribute to nation building.

Music, physical training, value education, cultural values are the critical pillars of the education system in this institution. The institution tries to provide the students the best environment required not only for their academics but also for their overall development by arranging innovative programs, workshops, seminars, field visits, activity based programmes, guidance lectures by eminent personalities. The school is aided but it receives very less subsidy /grant-in-aid from the government. As per government policy, education is free of cost for girl child while the parents of boys are unable to pay fees as they come from low financial background. Due to which the funds are insufficient to meet the basic needs of the school.

Advika Unnati Foundation donated 4 computers and 2 laptops to Mahatma Gandhi School in
Ambernath.

At Advika Unnati Foundation, we believe quality education should be a right, not a privilege-especially for children from underserved communities. Guided by this belief, we recently extended our support to Mahatma Gandhi School in Ambarnath by donating 4 computers and 2 laptops to strengthen their digital learning infrastructure. This initiative was made possible through the involvement of our mentor and supporter, Shri Ravindra Sabnis (Retired Additional Commissioner of Income Tax), whose presence and words of encouragement left a lasting impact on the students. He emphasized the importance of setting clear goals and working with discipline to achieve them values we at the foundation deeply resonate with. C.A. Apurv Gupte, a core member of our team, addressed the students as well, offering mentorship and guidance to those aspiring to pursue commerce education.
We were proud to have our foundation members—C.A. Aditya Lodha, Madhuri Nandwani, Trupti Morade, and Sanjay Dhangat present at the event, along with Assistant Principal Atul Kurkure, Principal Mahesh Jadhav, teachers, and students.
This effort is part of our broader mission to create lasting impact through access to education, empowerment, and financial upliftment. Mahatma Gandhi School’s warm welcome and response inspire us to keep moving forward one child, one classroom at a time.
